Wall Washing creates a uniform distribution of light to hide imperfections and make a space feel larger by spacing the lights further from the wall. Wall Grazing places the lights closer to the wall (usually within 12 inches) to highlight textures like stone or brick by creating shadows.
How far should Wall Wash Lights be spaced from the wall
or a standard 10-12 foot wall, we recommend placing the fixtures 2 to 3 feet away from the wall. This distance ensures an even “wash” of light without creating unwanted “hot spots” or dark gaps.
